The Arab City School System provides free transportation to and from school daily. Riding an Arab City School bus is a privilege that is granted to all students who behave appropriately. Inappropriate behavior on buses compromises student safety and may result in temporary or permanent suspension of bus riding privileges.
The Arab City BOE grants principals and administrators the authority and latitude to implement the following behavior expectations for students riding buses.
Stay in your seat and face forward.
Keep your hands and feet away from the aisle, the window, and the other passengers. For safety reasons, aisles must always be clear for loading and unloading.
Talk quietly and use appropriate language.
No eating or drinking on the bus.
Fighting, harassment, intimidation, or horseplay are prohibited.
Students must ride their assigned bus unless the principal or designee approves otherwise.
Students must load and unload at their designated stop unless the principal or designee approves otherwise.
Students damaging buses will be financially responsible for the damage.
Criminal conduct by a student while on a bus may result in involvement by local law enforcement officials.
