Promotion Standards
The Alabama State Department of Education requires that at least the minimum standards be taught in each grade level. The children at Arab Primary School deserve the best education that we can possibly give them. With this in mind, teachers and administrators developed academic promotion standards for students in K-2 focusing on reading and mathematics. The Arab City Board of Education approved the kindergarten Standards of Promotion on March 16, 2004. The first and second grade Standards of Promotion were approved on June 21, 2004.K-2 teachers use these standards to help guide their instruction throughout the year. The standards also provide them with valuable information about students in their classroom who may need extra help in order to master an objection. Parents are encouraged to use these standards at home to gauge what their child should accomplish by the end of the school year.
